Services we provide
At Fynbos Occupational Therapy we mainly focus on therapy for adults.
This includes physical injury/disability/illness, psychological therapy, cognitive rehabilitation (attention, memory, problem-solving etc.), hand therapy, family/caregiver training, and driving assessments (if there are concerns regarding one’s safety to drive after a medical incident). Learning skills are now offered for high school learners and students.
- Outpatient therapy: Therapy is provided to clients who are not admitted to a hospital, at our offices.
- Inpatients: Therapy is provided to patients who are admitted in a hospital setting.
- Home visits or old age home visits: Within a 30 kilometre range from Stilbaai and Riversdale. Unfortunately, we cannot travel along roads that require the use of a 4×4 vehicle. And additional fees will be charged for traveling, according to AA rates. Travel fees are to be paid before the appointment via EFT and is not paid by the medical aid, but by the client themselves.
During home visits, therapy is provided and advice regarding home adaptations after illness, injury or disability can be made. (Take note, for home visits, therapy may only be limited to the equipment one can move around with ease. Some therapy may require the use of larger or sensitive equipment that cannot be moved – and therefore you may have to visit our offices).
